Vietnam e-visa photo (4×6 cm, JPEG under 2 MB)

Vietnam's electronic visa form at evisa.gov.vn asks for two images: a recent portrait photo and your passport data page. The portrait must be 4×6 cm, a JPG or JPEG under 2 MB, on a white background. CropPass crops your photo to that shape and exports a 600×900 px JPEG well under the limit.

How to make your Vietnam e-visa photo

  1. Take or choose a photo. Face the camera in even light, against a wall that fits the background rule: white. Upload it as a JPEG, PNG or HEIC file; it stays on your device.
  2. Line up the frame. CropPass crops to the 2:3 shape of the file and marks where your head goes (57–67% of the height). Drag and zoom until your head sits inside the guides.
  3. Download the file. In the download step, check that "Vietnam e-visa photo (online upload)" is selected and click "Download Vietnam e-visa photo (online upload)". CropPass encodes a 600×900 px JPEG (up to 2 MB) and shows its final size, ready to upload. The preview is free; downloading needs a pass.

Questions and answers

What photo does the Vietnam e-visa form ask for?

A newly taken photo of the applicant, 4×6 cm, as a JPG or JPEG under 2 MB. The face looks straight at the camera, with no hat and no glasses, in formal clothes, against a white background. You also upload a clear image of your passport data page with no corners cut off.

How many pixels is a 4×6 cm e-visa photo?

The portal gives the size in centimetres only. At 300 DPI, 4×6 cm is 472×709 pixels, so CropPass treats that as the minimum and exports 600×900 px, which keeps the 4×6 shape and stays far below 2 MB.

Why does the e-visa portal warn about my photo?

The portal checks the portrait as you upload it. It warns when it finds no face or more than one face, when the resolution is too low, when the face is not looking straight, when it thinks the portrait was "captured from another source", or when the portrait and the passport photo match poorly. It says the application may be rejected, so upload a new photo when you see one of these warnings.

Can I wear glasses in a Vietnam e-visa photo?

No. The e-visa form asks for no glasses and no hat. Vietnamese passport photos follow the same no-glasses rule, so CropPass flags glasses in this photo too.
